What's a towncar?

Don%26#39;t laugh!!! I got a quote from Lincolm Limousine for a stretch limo which they mention in their email but they also say towncar? Didn%26#39;t want to show my ignorance by asking them but I knew my TA friends would be understanding - well hoping at least!! I did a search for ';town car'; and got 250 possible hits!!!

I tried emailing carmel limo too but they don%26#39;t accept emails which is a pity because I%26#39;ve heard they%26#39;re good but not keen on booking when I can%26#39;t get all my questions answered!!

Only seven weeks to go to our big trip. Can%26#39;t wait!!!

What's a towncar?

A ';town car'; refers to a Lincoln Town Car. It%26#39;s a make and model of a luxury 4-door sedan: it%26#39;s roomy, but not a limousine. Most of the car services use them or something similar. They are usally black. The car services are not a bad deal, you could also just take a cab from the airport.

Dial 7 (777-7777) is another reputable car service.

The Lincoln Town Car is a classic make of car in the US. Here%26#39;s a photo:

What I find confusing is...are you getting a stretch limo or a towncar? You can have a stretch Lincoln (as opposed to, say, a Cadillac) but it%26#39;s my understanding when you use the word ';towncar'; you are implying the large sedan, not a stretch.

I sense your concern and you have every right to ask whether you are getting the stretch or the sedan. I would not feel funny about asking this Lincoln Limousine which you have reserved. And if it is the sedan for the price you saw the stretch advertised for, I would question that.

Unless you have a lot of people or want to make a big entrance, a Towncar will do. Just ask for a Lincoln Towncar when you reserve.

Or as someone said, you could just take a cab.

Warmwinds: I believe that Datk was stating that the company was also quoting a price on a towncar as well as a limo not a limo towncar.

I also recommend a town car if 4 people or under as this is more than adequate for a ride in from the airport.

Thanks everyone. I originally asked for a quote on a stretch limo and they mentioned a town car in their response. There are five of us travelling and we%26#39;ve decided to start the weekend in style - and with a laugh - and get a stretch limo.

I%26#39;ve emailed the company again to ask them to clarify if the price they gave me was for a stretch limo or a towncar.

Thanks for your help
