Hotel Stanford - is it OK!!

Where is this very bad review? Not here

Only complaints I%26#39;ve heard are slow elevator and some of the help have thick accents. If that%26#39;s your only problem, you should be very grateful. ;)

Hotel Stanford - is it OK!!

No No Review was on Expedia i think. Thanks for that link will look at it now.

I have stayed at this hotel before and will never stay there again. But maybe that%26#39;s me to each%26#39;s own. The room was dark, furniture old and worn. The view outside the window was of a brick wall of another building. I had viewed a few rooms before settling on this one. I stayed one night and checked out the next day and found a better hotel in my opinion. I have to say that the staff were very nice and friendly but the hotel was not for me!!!

It seems fine from the reviews!

How much did you get it for and is it cancellable?

I booked a hotel in NY through a package deal last year then got cold feet after reading reviews on here so ended up changing it. I%26#39;m pleased I did change but to be honest the reviews for my original hotel were horrible.

Could you change if you wanted to? Although I don%26#39;t think theres a need to from the reviews on here, sounds like a lot of people just being picky to me. They%26#39;ll be complaining about the sound of sirens going by next!

I booked a room here because it was the only place that seemed reasonably priced and not sold our the night I was staying. I am probably going to look for last minute deals before I go but, from the reviews it seems like a fine place. Nothing fancy but, I haven%26#39;t read anything reallyu bad about it.

I can cancel as along as i do by 5pm before day of arrival and i got 4 nights for 拢502 including all taxes.

By the way ange logged on to your wedding site the other day, was very envios looked like you both had a really good time.

Oh it was just fantastic!! It was the best week of my life and we still show-off to anyone that will listen!

Anyway!!!

That sounds like a really good deal, it%26#39;s not a hotel I%26#39;ve heard of but it%26#39;s got plenty of reviews and they%26#39;re all good (you should read through some mediocre hotel%26#39;s reviews and then you%26#39;d have something to worry about!)

Is this your first time to NY? The only reason I%26#39;m asking is because when we went we picked somewhere that sounded central but while we were there we discovered some neighbourhoods we loved so have based our choices for our next trip on them...

Oh, and what made you book that hotel? Was it a recommendation from someone?

It is our first trip yo NY. We booked this hotel based on the price and location. Had some friends who went to NY this march, they recommended Millenium UN Plaza (they got it for 拢100 per night), but this time of year it was nearer 拢200 per night. As i don%26#39;t plan to spend too much time in the hotel I didn%26#39;t want to pay a fortune I just wanted somewhere clean to sleep and pretty central.

I%26#39;m with you on that - paying 拢200 a night I want to be guaranteed luxury! God bless England and the cheap-ish hotels!

I think you%26#39;ve done the right thing by posting on here with your concerns, but to be honest, if people are only complaining about slow lifts in The Stanford then you%26#39;re laughing! I cancelled our wedding week hotel because of reports of mice and cockroaches!

I don%26#39;t know whether you%26#39;re travelling with your friends or a partner but give that some thought too, if you really want to look at your hotel options then you need to think about what you%26#39;re going to be doing in the morning (when you leave the hotel) and in the evening (when you return).

The problem we had with staying in midtown was the prices of food and drinks in the bars and restaurants immediately surrounding the hotel. Oh and the fact that it was always busy - even at 4am! Which made me want to stay in a less touristy area this time.

But........ have a browse around, and if you can find something you think is wonderful for that price then go for it. If not, I think you%26#39;ve got a brilliant deal anyway!

Am going with hubby for dirty sorry sightseeing weekend away with no kids... YIPEE.. Plus been wanting to visit NY since my teens but never seemed to get round to it. Only 5 weeks left and i%26#39;m grinning like a cheshire cat already. Husband says its the happiest hes ever seen me. Wait till i get there!!!!!
