Airlink - any comments?

Does anyone have any comments on using Airlink to get from JFK to midtown Manhattan (ESB area)? Thanks

Airlink - any comments?

I%26#39;m not sure of the question?

Is it easy to use, yes. How much does it cost, $5.00 + $2.00 for the subway. How long will it take, about an hour or so.

Airlink - any comments?

No, Bobby, carolann means the shuttle bus service called Airlink, not the AirTrain. ;) I%26#39;ve never used it but it gets better reviews than Super Shuttle. Where%26#39;s your hotel , carolann? It may be that a regular Express bus shuttle has a stop that%26#39;s close enough.

You%26#39;re correct NYWhiz I do mean Airlink. Our hotel is the Thirty Thirty.

I%26#39;m thinking a cab is probably the quickest, although not the cheapest. Thanks for your input guys.

I used them in May and they were great. It cost $17 to Manhattan and $20 to JFK. The cab including tolls %26amp; tips is around $60 I believe. It depends how many are travelling as to whether you%26#39;d be better off with a cab.

BTW, the journey with Airlink didn%26#39;t take long either and the minibus was very clean and comfortable.

We used Airlink last year and had no problems at all. We used them both ways.

Going to use them this year to get the hotel, though whiz what is the direct shuttle you mentioned?

Thanks :o)

The direct shuttle I meant is the ';Expres Airport Shuttle'; that makes stops at Grand Central, Bryant Park, Port Authority etc. So instead of everyone on the bus expecting to be dropped at their door (while everyone else in the bus waits) you go to central locations which usually makes the trip faster. You can also add a ride to your hotel for a few dollars more (you%26#39;ll change buses at Grand Central). But for some who are at a hotel right near one of the regular stops, it makes sense.

Thanks Whiz :o)

I would only use the bus if you are by yourself and trying to save money. If you are a group with luggage it%26#39;s just much easier to take a taxi. Take the yellow taxis from the cab stand at the airport. Coming from JFK, it%26#39;s a flat rate of $45 to anywhere in Manhattan, plus toll ($4) and tip, so it should be $55-60 altogether (that%26#39;s for all of you, the number of passengers does not matter).

Going back to JFK, the driver often asks if I want to use the meter or pay a flat rate of $45. From my apartment, which is across the street from the Hotel Thirty-Thirty, it comes out to be about the same price, so I take the flat rate if I think the traffic is going to be bad.

I%26#39;ve just booked with airlink from JFK - Manhattan for my 15 year old daughter and I we arrive Sunday cost me $68 return for both of us to the airport, I dont think this is bad. I went with Virgin in April and it cost me 拢50 return for my husband I from JFK and back.

I had a reply almost immediately from them with my vouchers to print out for the driver.
