Nassau Coliseum

Hi, We want to go to see a ice hockey game (New York Islanders vs. Tampa Bay Lightning) at the Nassau Coliseum on 6th Nov. We are staying at the econo lodge times square. Does anyone know the best way of getting to and from the venue and approx cost please. The match starts at 7.30 pm and tickets are going fast !! There are 2 of us.

Thanks.

Nassau Coliseum

Go by Long Island Railroad from Penn Station which is close to your hotel. See directions

When you get to the train station on Long Island take a taxi to the Coliseum. A taxi from Manhattan would be very expensive because the Coliseum is not in New York City and the taxis don%26#39;t have to go there.

WOW !!! I knew tripadvisors are good but to get a reply so quick is fantastic. Thankyou. Any idea how much the trip would cost as we are on a very tight budget (is%26#39;nt everyone ? ) I have tried to find out times etc so that we know we have time enough to get back but cannot for some reason find this anywhere on the web. Maybe cause i%26#39;ve had a hard day. Anyway thanks again. We cant wait to go. Will hopefully book tickets for the game later tonight.

Repeating what is said at the link you were given:

DIRECTIONS BY RAILROAD: 516-822-5477 and 718-217-5477.

Take the Long Island Rail Road to Hempstead train station, walk one (1) block to the Hempstead Bus Terminal. Take either the N70, N71, or N72, which will drop you off on Hempstead Turnpike opposite the Nassau Colisem, or take the Long Island Rail Road to Westbury train station at which there are no buses available.

Here is the URL of the Long Island Rail Road (which actually is two words like that; it is so old that the word ';railroad'; had not been invented when it was founded) schedule page:

For Nassau buses, look here:

Take the train to Westbury and get a taxi. There should be cabs at the train station. When you get there, reserve a taxi to pick you up after the game. You may have to leave early if the taxis stop at a certain hour. The trains run late. Here%26#39;s a link to the Westbury schedule

Thanks again. Booked tickets to match. GO Islanders !!! Noticed Elton John was in concert there as well. mmm. need more money !!
