Since I generally shun the west side, I have not heard of any of them. If you%26#39;re looking for assessments of them, check out newyork.citysearch.com

I have been to Scruffy Duffy%26#39;s and the Irish Rogue. They%26#39;re both fine, the Irish Rogue has a nice upstairs with couches. Really, any of them will do, they%26#39;re all midtown, Irish bars. They are pretty interchangeable, though I do like the Irish Rogue%26#39;s upstairs (though I was there once on a Sunday when it was pretty empty).

They are all pretty average, New York Irish pubs. O%26#39;Reilly%26#39;s is not so great. Hurley%26#39;s is cleaner and nicer.

I would suggest trying some places in a different neighborhood downtown. Pete%26#39;s Tavern is a great old New York bar, and so is Old Town Bar. Swift Tavern is also a cozy spot. You should also visit McSorley%26#39;s.

If Irish pubs are your thing, go to Molly%26#39;s on 3rd Avenue between 22nd and 23rd Streets.

I agree with rca re Molly%26#39;s Shebeen - real old-timey feeling, a real working fireplace and sawdust on the floor. And, one of NYC%26#39;s best burgers!

I think Hurley%26#39;s is no more. If you%26#39;re looking for an Irish pub, here%26#39;s a list
