Star Spot

Hello All,

Just a quick one - maybe a bit daft but i%26#39;m going to ask. Is there anywhere in the city you can go that has guaranteed ';star'; spotting?

Also,

Still struggling with a choice for a restuarant for our first night. We want to get dressed up, go out, not spend oodles of dosh but find somewhere that has a bit of atmosphere. When i last visited, hubbie and i dined in Cibo up near Grand Central Station. This time i don%26#39;t just want to go back to the familiar, that is too easy!

Want to show my Mum a good time, she deserves it. She%26#39;s never been to NY before and is quite excited.

All advice appreciated as usual.

I would suggest Balthazar as a choice for you. Great atmosphere, often celebs but I can%26#39;t guarantee it, and delicious french food. Here is a link

Star Spot

There%26#39;s a restaurant in SoHo that guarantees a movie star at their place 24/7 for your pleasure. But it%26#39;s hard to get a reservtion.

Um,..just kidding. I can%26#39;t think of anywhere that would guarantee a star for you. However, if you think the Today or Good Morning America hosts are stars, you could just get up early and go to Times Sq or Rockefeller Plaza to stand around watching their shows. There%26#39;s a good chance they%26#39;ll have a celebrity guest.

Cheers,

The plaza at the CBS building / FAO Shwarz store facing 5th Ave. We saw Ryan Reynolds and A-Rod within 5 minutes of each other on Columbus day. Very cool.

People say if you go to Joe Allen%26#39;s for an after theater dinner, you are likely to have some celeb sightings.
