Halal restaurants/takeaways

Hi there!

Can anyone tell me if their are any halal restaurants and takeaways in cnetral new york. Im flying out on the 25th Dec and flying back to Engalnd on 1st Jan in the evening.

I%26#39;m not sure what you mean by ';central New York';. Do you mean Manhattan? or just midtown Manhattan? There are certainly some halal Indian/Pakistani take out (that is the term we use instead of takeaway) restaurants on Church Street in the area of Chambers Street down by City Hall. I have noticed at least three or four in a very short stretch on both sides of the street.

Where are you staying?

In midtown, the most famous one is at 53rd St.and 6th Avenue. They even have a webstie:

In the downtown area (near City Hall and the World Trade Center), most of the Inidan, Pakistani and Middle Eastern take-out places and luncheonettes are Halal.

Three examples:

Faraj Falafel and Schwarma (has 2 or 3 tables only)

Also, there are many Halal food carts all over the financial district and lower Manhattan. They usually have a big ';HALAL'; sign on them.
