town car vs cab

we are flying into LaGuardia airport and going to the Hilton Times Square. Was wondering would it be best to just book a town car instead of taking a cab? I have checked out carmel limo and their prices are $28.00 plus tolls. How would this compare to the price of taking a cab?

thanks for any info you can give me.

Taxi price is about the same, $25-30, but since taxis are metered you can pay more if there is a lot of traffic. Car Services may charge extra to meet you inside the terminal.

Taxi may be one or two dollars more but I always take a cab.

If you use Carmel you have to call them after you retrieve your luggage. They say a car will show up in 5 minutes but it can certainly be longer and usually is.

For a taxi join the line in front of the terminal. You will probably be on your way in 5 minutes

It depends on what time you%26#39;re arriving (if in rush hour or a busy day, get a car service with fixed price) and whether you%26#39;re used to NYC cab/drivers. Carmel will likely be a bit nicer than a cab and fixed price, but I agree, the taxi is easier. You should also know that the Airport Express bus to Port Authority leaves every 20 mins. and is $12/person. Port Authority is a half block from your hotel.

thanks for the info - i may just check out the airport bus. It seems like a short walk to the hotel.

thanks again
