Will be in the city Saturday Dec 9. with 2 other couples. They have never been to NYC and of course want to see the high spots. We will be staying at the Novotel and will be visiting Rockerfeller Center, St. Patricks, Top of the Rock (if not too crowded) they want to head to Ground Zero and on Sunday perhaps head up 5th Ave into Central Park. Want to take them to great restaurant for mid afternoon drinks and lunch both days. Someplace to sit and relax for awhile that would be very New York. Any suggestions. I was thinking the Boathouse for possibly Sunday and don%26#39;t know where for Saturday. Also thinking of the Christmas show if I can get tickets.
Suggestions for Lunch during Dec weekend
Last December we visited New York City with my sister and her husband (from Michigan). It was very cold but the city was wonderful. We had a spectacular lunch at Picholine! It was prix fix at $35.00 per person. The food was warm and wonderful. We paired the food with wine and were not disappointed. After dining, we entered Central Park and visited the holiday market at Columbus Circle. The weather was cold, it had just snowed and it felt like the holidays. This would be a perfect choice prior to the Christmas Show. You may need to take a cab to get there from the restaurant but the lunch will be a happy memory. Moms
Suggestions for Lunch during Dec weekend
Eleven Madison Park might be a nice spot. It%26#39;s a little farther downtown, around Madison Avenue and 25th Street. It%26#39;s a beautiful space with high ceilings, lots of light, and huge windows that look out onto Madison Square Park. It has a nice ';Old New York'; feel, like something from the 1930%26#39;s. The food is excellent, they have a nice selection of wines. I%26#39;m not sure what your budget is. It%26#39;s not inexpensive, but an excellent restaurant.

The Boathouse in Central Park is an excellent idea, and very ';New York';.
They typically don%26#39;t take reservations for brunch on the weekends, but with a group of six they may.
