Arriving at JFK at 14.30 Friday, to save money i thought it might be worth taking the NY Airport Service Bus, as the terminal doesn%26#39;t seem far from hotel, but is it a long walk with a suitcase? or should i choose airlink instead (for me and my brother age 29 and 33)
NY Airport Bus terminal - walk to NY Helmsley?
First, it%26#39;s not the terminal but Grand Central (terminal) Locals call it Grand Central. If you just say the terminal, no one will know what you%26#39;re talking about. ;)
Your hotel is not far from the Grand Central stop of the Airport express bus. For a few dollars more, they will give you a lift to your hotel if you don%26#39;t want to walk it.
Even cheaper, is the AirTrain to the subway ($7/person) If you want to do that, take the AirTrain at JFK to the E train. Take the E train to Manhattan and get out at Lexington %26amp; 51 st. You could change there for the 6 train (downtown) to Grand Central, or just hop in a taxi to your hotel for prob. another $5.
NY Airport Bus terminal - walk to NY Helmsley?
Gosh, I%26#39;m sorry I reread your post and misunderstood you. What I said about Grand Central is true, but it%26#39;s just a train station. But if you meant the bus terminal, there%26#39;s not really a bus ';terminal'; at/near Grand Central for this bus. The bus stops at 125 Park Ave. between 41-42 st. My directions are still ok.
Ok, thank you for the info. I looked up and had misread too, as i thought there was a bust terminal by grand central, so at least that has cleared it up for me!
I just wondered how long the walk would be from the bus stop to the NY Helmsley hotel?
Depends on how much luggage you have and whether you have wheels on it. Under normal conditions, I estimate it would take you 5-10 minutes with a suitcase with wheels. You just turn right at the corner of 42nd and Park and walk east on 42nd Street until you reach the NY Helmsley, which is on 42nd between 2nd and 3rd.
